The inspirations behind BellNBiz
loyal customers in 2018
My dad taught me to lead by example. Cali, my baby girl, inspires me with her sweet heart and fearless, spunky spirit.
Visit Bell Engineering My passion for real estate grew from two lake homes I purchased with close friends. These weekend homes gave our families years of laughter, time on the water, and lasting memories.
Meanwhile, I spent 22 rewarding years in medical sales, earning two #1 finishes, two Rookie of the Year awards, six Presidents Club trips, and numerous top-10 finishes.
I logged over 2,000 hotel nights during that time, adding up to more than five years on the road away from my family. Over the last few years, I increasingly chose short-term rentals for their greater comfort, unique character, and room to work. These homes were usually less expensive than a typical hotel stay, keeping me well under my travel budget.
My time on the road inspired BellNBiz Properties, offering five-star business stays and five-star weekend getaways. My inspiration to act on this idea came from my dad, Clyde Bell, who bet on himself in 1984 when he founded Bell Engineering. He led his company for 35 years, until he passed away from pancreatic cancer in 2019.
A good businessman and an even better person to work with or for, Dad led by example, welcomed employees’ ideas, and trusted their judgment. That trust earned his employees’ loyalty, with several staying by his side for the entire 35 years.
He practiced those same principles with his clients, making their needs a top priority, delivering first-class service, and keeping his promises. This philosophy built genuine partnerships and client loyalty, helping Bell Engineering achieve a 95% client retention rate.
Seven years after his passing, the company is still going strong under the leadership of his original business partner and good friend, Robert Richardson, President of Bell Engineering.
My favorite memories with my dad are of golfing with him at Pinewood Golf Club. Our lighthearted talks and the wisdom he shared from years of running his own business still guide me today.
The most important lesson I learned from my dad and during my career is that the way you do business matters just as much as whether you succeed or fail. Doing right by customers and taking care of your employees build the trust that lasting partnerships depend on.
That’s the spirit I’m bringing to BellNBiz: treating every guest the way I would treat my own family and closest friends.
